On Jan. 9th, Mitch Johnston and Jason Gurt were recognized by the Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association at the 34th Annual John Davis Hall of Fame & Awards Banquet for their service to Chicagoland’s High School Track and Cross Country Programs.  


Mitch Johnston, founded the Winged Foot Foundation, a non-profit 501 C 3 charitable organization that has been created exclusively for charitable purposes. The goal of the Winged Foot  Foundation has been to assist student athletes in the Chicago area by

providing athletic equipment and academic programs to help strengthen the educational & sports activities in their communities. Mitch received the ITCCCA Recognition Award.


For several years, Jason Gurt has been the timing coordinator for the Thornton, Thornridge & Thornwood track and cross country meets.  Responsible for the timing system and coordination of his team of timers, Jason has successfully directed over 100 meets including large scale Invitationals.  For his ongoing dedication to the success of athletic competition, Jason was presented the ITCCCA Officials Award.
